DJ ILLSon, founder and head honcho of Sound Surgery Records © and Sound Surgery Music © is DJing and producing under the solo name of ILLSon.
ILLSon started his DJ career back in 1988 playing Hip-Hop and Electro beats. The Djing took ILLSon around various undreground raves around the South of England until 1995/6. Maximum Perversion was the first of a long line of releases with Dr's of Funk and also various pseudonyms, like his alter ego group Electro City Funksterz. 1998 saw the release of The Avanjelists 12" release on Quality Control Records which was a blend of raw bass and funk, and on the flip a house mix cover of The Avengers.
ILLSon started up Sound Surgery Records in early 1999, and saw the Dr's of Funk first release titled Perverted Breakz vol. 1 hit the UK streets in early 2000. SS-002 was the first release from Electro City Funksterz, which was a new blend of Electro distortion with Drum and Bass FX and dark bass lines, to carve a slice in the Nu-School market. SS-003 saw the first solo project from Dr Prozak entitled Tortured Beatz on the DJ Sampler along side D-Committee, Skinny Asthmatics and Dr's of Funk.
Now ILLSon has teamed up with Eclectic Electric DJs and playing bad ass tunes in Brighton & London
